Daniel Levy hails 'winner' Mauricio Pochettino

Tottenham Hotspur chairman Daniel Levy hails the arrival of Mauricio Pochettino following his appointment as the club's new manager.

Tottenham Hotspur chairman Daniel Levy has praised Mauricio Pochettino following his appointment as the club's new manager.

The Argentine, 42, left Southampton on Tuesday to sign a five-year contract at White Hart Lane.

Levy believes that Pochettino will fit in at the Premier League club thanks to his brand of "high-energy" football and "winning mentality".

"In Mauricio I believe we have a head coach who, with his high energy, attacking football, will embrace the style of play we associate with our club," Levy told Tottenham's official website.

"He has a proven ability to develop each player as an individual, whilst building great team spirit and a winning mentality. We have a talented squad that Mauricio is excited to be coaching next season."

Pochettino is the 10th manager that Levy has appointed since he became Spurs chairman in 2001.
