Nathaniel Clyne: 'It would be a shame to lose Mauricio Pochettino'

Nathaniel Clyne says that it would be a "real shame" if Southampton were to lose manager Mauricio Pochettino, who has been linked to Tottenham.

Southampton's Nathaniel Clyne has admitted that it would be a "real shame" if manager Mauricio Pochettino left the club this summer.

The Argentine is believed to be in talks with Tottenham Hotspur, who have reportedly offered the coach a three-year deal to replace Tim Sherwood.

"For me personally it took my game to another level," Clyne told The Mirror. "It would be a real shame if we were to lose him.

"He has been so different to any other manager. He planted it into our heads that even if we were up against bigger teams and bigger players, we could compete at the same level as them."

Pochettino moved to St Mary's from Espanyol last year.
