Paul Lambert praises Aston Villa performance

Paul Lambert says there was not much difference between the teams in Aston Villa's 2-0 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur.

Paul Lambert believes that his Aston Villa team played "really well" in their 2-0 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur today.

Villa were outdone by goals from Andros Townsend and Roberto Soldado, but their manager feels that his side can feel hard done by.

"It was pretty tight. We had chances and there wasn't much in it. In the second half we came out and played really well," BBC Sport quotes him as saying.

"I thought they scored against the run of play in the second half. We were playing really well, with confidence and the crowd were really up for it.

Today's result leaves Villa in 13th place in the Premier League.
