Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane admits that his side rode their luck against Watford.

Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane has admitted that his team were not at their best during their 2-0 win over Watford in the Premier League.

The forward credited Spurs goalkeeper Hugo Loris with keeping their one-goal lead intact at the interval, but insisted that his side showed improvement in the second half.

"It was good but we could have played better. I thought we could have moved it quicker and we were lucky to be ahead at half time thanks to Loris," Kane told Sky Sports News.

"We were a little bit better in the second half but there were still times I felt we could have played it a little bit quicker, especially through the lines.

"We did what we needed to win the game and ease the pressure a bit and we did that. It feels like ages since we last played and our run of form hasn't been the best.

"When that happens, you want to play straight away and make it right. We've had to wait eight days or so [after losing in the FA Cup to Manchester United] and we started a bit slowly but we won the game and we're happy."

The result leaves Spurs in fourth place in the table, one point behind Liverpool directly above them, who have played one game more.
