Younes Kaboul backs Tim Sherwood to become permanent Tottenham Hotspur boss

Younes Kaboul believes that Tim Sherwood deserves to be handed the head coach role at Tottenham Hotspur on a permanent basis.

Tottenham Hotspur defender Younes Kaboul believes that head coach Tim Sherwood deserves to be given the job on a permanent basis.

The 45-year-old took charge of the first team in December after the North London outfit opted to part ways with Andre Villas-Boas.

Since taking over, Sherwood has guided the Premier League outfit to seven victories and two draws.

"I hope so, for him," Kaboul told the London Evening Standard. "He deserves it. He knows the club very well, he's been here for a long time and he knows exactly what he's doing.

"He learned a lot in the past and the best fact is that he played football at a high level. He won the title with Blackburn in 1995, so he has plenty of experience. His playing career is important, because he knows what it's like for us."

Spurs are three points behind fourth-placed Liverpool in the league table after last night's 4-0 win over Newcastle United.
