Former Tottenham Hotspur and Scotland player Dave Mackay dies, aged 80.

Former Tottenham Hotspur, Derby County, Hearts and Scotland player Dave Mackay has died, aged 80.

Mackay won 22 caps for his country, and won Footballer of the Year awards in England and Scotland.

He joined Tottenham from Hearts, and was part of the 1960-61 double-winning team, before winning the FA Cup again with Tottenham in 1962 and 1967.

The Edinburgh-born midfielder joined Derby County in 1968, and was named Footballer of the Year a year later.

Spurs paid tribute to Mackay, saying: "He was one of our greatest ever players and a man who never failed to inspire those around him. In short, a Spurs legend."

Mackay won 10 major honours throughout his career.
