Jermain Defoe believes that Tottenham's season is now up and running following Sunday's 3-1 win at Reading.

Tottenham Hotspur striker Jermain Defoe has claimed that the team can now push on following Sunday's 3-1 win at Reading.

Defoe scored two goals at the Madejski Stadium to give Spurs their first victory of the new Premier League season at the fourth attempt.

"I'm sure today the fans are happy and everyone that has been doubting us they can hopefully look at us and see that we can do well this season," the England international told Sky Sports News. "Our season will start now."

Spurs have gone 10th in the Premier League table thanks to the win.
