Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Nabil Bentaleb has pledged his international future to Algeria.
The Desert Foxes faced competition from France for the player, but the 19-year-old has committed to playing for the African nation.
"Football Federation president Mohamed Raouraoua met with [Bentaleb], who agreed to play for the country of his parents," an Algerian Football Federation statement read.
"Bentaleb will be called up for the next phase of the national team's preparations on March 1, ahead of the match against Slovenia on March 5 in Blida."
Algeria have qualified for this summer's World Cup finals.
