David Beckham says that Harry Redknapp's managerial skills would be perfect for England.

David Beckham has praised the managerial skills of Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp, saying that the 64-year-old is the perfect fit for the England job.

Beckham, who recently won the MLS Cup with LA Galaxy, also said that Redknapp has turned Spurs into title contenders this season.

"Fabio is stepping down and there'll be lots of candidates as it's any person's dream. Yet Harry has proved himself over many years. The Tottenham team he has at the moment is exceptional," Beckham told The Sun.

"The way they play the game is the way everyone likes to see. It's exciting. There's young players with energy but that's also some experienced lads there.

"He is a passionate manager and that's what most players want. I was lucky to train there for a couple of months and he's great. I think Spurs could do really well if they continue to play like this."

Redknapp recently played down the prospect of Beckham returning to the Premier League as part of the Tottenham squad.
