Under-fire West Ham United manager Slaven Bilic is reportedly planning wholesale changes to his side ahead of their EFL Cup tie with bitter rivals Tottenham Hotspur.

West Ham United manager Slaven Bilic will reportedly make wholesale changes to his side ahead of Wednesday night's EFL Cup clash with fierce rivals Tottenham Hotspur.

Bilic's future at the London Stadium has come under heavy scrutiny so far this season, with Friday night's 3-0 home defeat at the hands of Brighton & Hove Albion piling more pressure on his shoulders.

The board are understood to have given the Croatian two more games to save his job, but Bilic is prepared to field a second-string side for the EFL Cup fourth-round tie at Wembley in order to prioritise Saturday's Premier League clash with fellow strugglers Crystal Palace.

West Ham currently sit 16th in the Premier League table, only outside the relegation zone on goal difference having won just two of their opening nine league games.

The Hammers hierarchy are understood to be exploring possible replacements for Bilic already despite their preference being to keep him on until at least next weekend.

Defeats in their back-to-back London derbies are likely to spell the end of Bilic's tenure, though, with the club increasingly concerned about the threat of relegation.
