Tottenham Hotspur confirm that Jan Vertonghen has suffered medial ligament damage.

Tottenham Hotspur have confirmed that Jan Vertonghen has suffered medial ligament damage, an injury that could rule him out for up to three months.

The 28-year-old was forced off in the second half of Spurs' 3-1 win at Crystal Palace on Saturday after a collision with Connor Wickham.

Scans have now revealed "damage to his medial collateral ligament in his knee" that typically comes with a recovery time of at least two months.

In a statement, Spurs said: "Our medical staff will continue to monitor his progress during his rehabilitation to determine when he will be ready to return to training."

The Belgian has been an ever-present for Spurs in the league this season as they continue their title push.
