Toby Alderweireld suffers "small" back problem

Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino confirms that defender Toby Alderweireld has suffered another injury setback in the form of a minor back problem.

Tottenham Hotspur defender Toby Alderweireld has suffered another injury setback in the form of a minor back problem.

The 27-year-old Belgium centre-back recently returned from a two-month spell out with a knee injury, but was left out of Spurs' matchday squad for the 2-1 victory over Burnley on Sunday.

Prior to kickoff, manager Mauricio Pochettino said: "He's not injured, he got a problem in the last training session in his back. It's not a big issue, it's only a small problem."

Alderweireld joined Spurs from Atletico Madrid in 2015 for £11.5m and has made 62 appearances for the North London club.
