Harry Kane's record vs. Manchester City

Ahead of Tottenham Hotspur's home match with Manchester City, Sports Mole looks at Harry Kane's past record against the Citizens.

Tottenham Hotspur will look to inflict a fourth successive defeat on Manchester City when the sides face off at Wembley Stadium this weekend.

The Lilywhites are the side in better form, having gone unbeaten in 14 Premier League matches since the reverse fixture in December - a 4-1 win for the Citizens.

City have been rocked by the news that Sergio Aguero will miss the match through injury, but Spurs have leading marksman Harry Kane back fit and firing following his own recent layoff.

Here, Sports Mole looks at the England international's record against this weekend's opponents in previous matches.

Kane vs. Man City

Kane has faced City on six previous occasions, with each of those matches coming in the top flight. The first of those was in the 2012-13 season when on loan with Norwich City, finding himself on the wrong end of a 4-3 defeat at Carrow Road.

The 24-year-old was not part of the Spurs squad for the following season's matches, both of which ended in heavy defeats for his side, but he has played a part in five of the last six top-flight encounters.

Just two of those matches have yielded a goal, as he found a way through in 4-1 and 2-1 victories for his side two seasons ago.

Blanks have been fired in his last two meetings with City, though, and he was fortunate not to be shown a straight red card for a bad challenge Raheem Sterling in December's clash.
