Mauricio Pochettino "happy" to escape with FA Cup replay

Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino is content with his side's 2-2 draw with Leicester City at White Hart Lane as a late Harry Kane goal earns the hosts a replay.

Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino has insisted that he is "happy" with his side's performance and the result from their FA Cup third-round clash with Leicester City this afternoon.

Spurs looked on course to be knocked out of the competition by the Foxes for the second year in a row until Harry Kane converted a controversial late penalty to earn his side a replay at the King Power Stadium later this month.

However, Pochettino does not believe that his side were lucky to nick a late draw and is pleased that they remain in the competition after what he deemed to be a good performance.

"Lucky? No. You must never give up. I didn't see if it was [a penalty] or not. But sometimes the decisions are for you sometimes they are against you. If I watch it again I can give a better opinion," he told reporters.

"It's true we are happy and very pleased to get the draw at the end. It's important for us to stay alive in the competition. But if we analyse, the first half, we deserved more. We dominated the whole game. But I'm happy. The performance was good. We have another chance."

Spurs welcome Leicester to White Hart Lane again on Wednesday as the two do battle in a top-four clash in the Premier League.
