Claudio Ranieri "very pleased" with Leicester City performance

Leicester manager Claudio Ranieri admits that his side's draw with Spurs in the FA Cup feels more like a defeat, but insists that it is still a "positive result".

Leicester City manager Claudio Ranieri has said that he is "very pleased" with his side's performance during their FA Cup third-round meeting with Tottenham Hotspur this afternoon.

The Foxes appeared to be on course for the fourth round having come from behind to take the lead at White Hart Lane, but Harry Kane's controversial late penalty earned a replay for the hosts.

Ranieri admitted that the late goal made the draw feel more like a defeat, but insists that it is still a positive result considering that he made eight changes to his side.

"Yes of course [it feels like a defeat] because there were very few minutes at the end of the match and there was this penalty," Ranieri told reporters.

"I didn't see the penalty because there were two players in front of me and I don't know if they touched, but the more important thing was the referee gave this penalty.

"I was very pleased with our performance because eight players without play - some play sometimes, in the League Cup - and now they replay now in the FA Cup and I think they deserve a positive result. Two-two is a positive result, well done!"

Leicester make the trip to White Hart Lane again next week as they take on Spurs in a Premier League clash on Wednesday night.
