Tottenham Hotspur confirm Dnipro Europa League clash will go ahead

Tottenham Hotspur confirm that tonight's Europa League last-32 clash against Dnipro will go ahead, despite unrest in Ukraine.

Tottenham Hotspur have confirmed that tonight's Europa League clash against Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk will go ahead as planned, despite the violent political protests in Ukraine.

The last-32 contest has been given the green light by UEFA this morning due to the match being held in Dnipropetrovsk, which is some 220 miles away from the capital Kiev, where the protests have been carried out.

A statement from Tottenham on their official website said: "There will be a minute's silence before kickoff and both teams will wear black armbands during the game as a mark of respect to those who have lost their lives as a result of the unrest in Ukraine.

"In addition, we have been asked to request that our fans do not display any banners this evening as a mark of respect. The club would like to remind supporters travelling to the match to take extra care when journeying to and from the stadium."

The match is scheduled for a 6pm UK time kickoff.
