Roberto Soldado has claimed that beating Besiktas in the Europa League could be crucial for Tottenham Hotspur's hopes in the Europa League.

Spurs are looking for their first win in Group B on Thursday evening, and Soldado believes that hitting top form at White Hart Lane is vital.

"This game is really important for us because it's at home, and always when we play at White Hart Lane we need to win," the Spanish forward told the club's official website.

"We know that Besiktas are a big team and they showed their qualities against Arsenal while playing for a place in the Champions League.

"Now we play them at home and we need a win after we drew 0-0 in Partizan. We want to qualify in first position in the group, so we need to win this game to get the three points."

Both sides head into the game on one point following draws in their respective opening fixtures.
