Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane hopes that his side have salvaged some pride for the fans by securing Europa League football with a 3-1 Wembley win over CSKA Moscow.

Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane has claimed that his side have "learned to be better" when playing in front of their own fans in the Champions League.

Spurs had lost their opening two Champions League matches at their adopted home of Wembley Stadium this season - form in sharp contrast to an eight-match unbeaten record at White Hart Lane this term.

However, they finally broke the Wembley hoodoo with a 3-1 victory over CSKA Moscow this evening, and Kane hopes that securing Europa League football for 2017 has at least salvaged some pride for the fans.

"We've learned to be better at home. You have to win your home games - you can't rely on away results," he told BT Sport.

"We've finished the campaign well, there's a bit of pride to send the fans home happy."

Spurs will play their Europa League home matches at Wembley before spending an entire season at the national stadium while their new ground is being completed next year.
