Sporting Gijon 2-1 Malaga

Oscar Trejo's spectacular stoppage-time winner earns Sporting Gijon a 2-1 win at home to Malaga.

Oscar Trejo's spectacular stoppage-time winner has earned Sporting Gijon a 2-1 win at home to Malaga.

Gijon nearly took an early lead through Gregory Arnolin, but his volley was parried away by Caballero Lazcan in the Malaga goal.

Nacho Novo was off target with two efforts for the hosts before Alejandro Galvez put Gijon ahead when he flicked in Ignacio Mora's free kick.

Malaga were much improved in the second half as chances fell to Ruud Van Nistelrooy and Sergio Ortega.

Meanwhile, Mate Bilic had a fizzing drive tipped around the post for the home side.

Malaga found an equaliser in the 88th minute when Van Nistelrooy's deflected shot from outside of the area found the net.

However, Trejo's 30-yard volley in the second minute of injury time earned all three points for Gijon.
