Anderlecht teenager Yari Verschaeren has reportedly emerged as a potential signing for Southampton.
Since the arrival of Ralph Hasenhuttl, a priority has been placed on developing younger players, either from the club's academy system or from elsewhere.
According to Calciomercato, Southampton are considering an approach for Verschaeren in one of the upcoming transfer windows.
Despite only turning 18 years of age over the summer, Verschaeren was handed his Belgium debut against Scotland earlier this week.
The creative midfielder, who holds a contract with Anderlecht until 2022, has already made 21 league appearances in the Belgian top flight.
