Southampton reportedly make a £17m offer for Roma striker Pablo Osvaldo.

Southampton have reportedly offered Roma £17m for striker Pablo Osvaldo.

Osvaldo has been a reported target for Manchester City, but the Saints have launched the potentially record-breaking bid, according to Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio.

However, he claims that the 27-year-old is not keen on making the switch from the Italian captial to the south coast side after learning of the interest from City.

The Saints' current transfer-record stands at £12m following Gaston Ramirez's move to St. Mary's last summer.
