Watford have picked up a third draw in a row after sharing a goalless stalemate with Southampton in the Premier League at Vicarage Road.

Quique Flores's side move up to 11th in the table, extending their unbeaten start to the season.

The visitors remain without a win in the league this season, and remain in the bottom three, with just two points from a possible nine so far.

Goal

Heurelho Gomes: Heurelho Gomes did not have the busiest day in goal for the home side, but he made a couple of decent saves, and was decisive in claiming crosses into the box. (7/10)

Defence

Allan Nyom: Nyom made some decent blocks and clearances at the back for Watford, but was beaten by Shane Long several times in the first half. (6/10)

Sebastian Prodl: Prodl was clinical for Watford, regularly slowing the charge of Graziano Pelle and clearing his lines consistently. (7/10)

Craig Cathcart: Cathcart was given the freedom to play a more attacking role, regularly getting involved in midfield, but he knew when to drop back. (7/10)

Jose Holebas: Holebas looked keen to get forward in the first half, but managed just 45 minutes before being replaced at half time. (5/10)

Midfield

Jose Jurado: After a quiet first half, Jurado dominated the second half for Watford, impressing down the left flank in particular. (8/10)

Valon Behrami: Behrami put in a workman-like performance, rarely trying to get involved in the box, but often dropping back to make sure the Hornets cleared their lines. (6/10)

Ikechi Anya: Anya was probably Watford best attacking player in the first half, but played a more defensive role in the second half, helping limit Southampton's chances. (7/10)

Odion Ighalo: Ighalo had a couple of decent chances in the second half, but was unable to get his finishes on target, twice heading over. (6/10)

Etienne Capoue: Capoue missed an absolute sitter in the second half, but did work hard throughout the 90 minutes. (7/10)

Attack

Troy Deeney: Deeney was isolated up front all too often, but was happy to drop back in midfield and create chances for his teammates. (7/10)

Substitutes

Alessandro Diamanti: The new signing came off the bench to make his debut at half time, and worked well down the left flank, setting up a couple of chances. (7/10)

Ben Watson: Watson came off the bench late on, and unleashed a vicious volley in the final moments, but failed to keep the ball on target. (6/10)

Goal

Maarten Stekelenburg: Watford had no shots on target, so it was not the busiest afternoon for the keeper, but he did collect from some crosses into the box. (6/10)

Defence

Maya Yoshida: It was a quietly clinical afternoon from Yoshida, who made few errors, but was rarely involved in the decisive challenges. (6/10)

Jose Fonte: Fonte was excellent marking Deeney, and had to rescue a couple of dangerous looking situations after mistakes from his teammates. (8/10)

Steven Caulker: Caulker had some brilliant and some awful moments. He was lucky not to concede a penalty, but came close to scoring from a corner. (6/10)

Midfield

Cedric Soares: Despite picking up a knock early on, Soares never stopped running, regularly bringing the ball out from the back, while blocking several Diamanti crosses in the second half. (7/10)

Steven Davis: David was busy early on, running at everything in the middle to try to win the ball back for the visitors, but he tired in the second half before being replaced. (6/10)

Victor Wanyama: Wanyama was keen to try his luck with a couple of long-range efforts, never getting close to the target, and was sluggish while dropping back to try to help out the back three. (4/10)

Oriol Romeu: Romeu was not afraid to go in with a tackle, slowing several moves from the home side, but was a little lucky not to get sent off for a two-footed challenge in the second half. (5/10)

Matt Targett: Targett had little impact in the first half, but was much more involved in the second half, creating a couple of half-chances late on, which his teammates were unable to make the most of. (6/10)

Attack

Sadio Mane: Mane was probably Southampton's best player in the opening 20 minutes, but his afternoon was cut short by injury. (7/10)

Graziano Pelle: The Italian striker got a couple of decent shots away, but was too closely marked to really impose himself. (5/10)

Substitutes

Shane Long: Long played most of the match after replacing Mane in the 23rd minute, and was excellent out wide, relentlessly providing a string of crosses into the Watford box. (8/10)

James Ward-Prowse: Ward-Prowse came on for the tiring Davis in the final minutes, but did not have enough time to make a real impact. (5/10)

Jay Rodriguez: Rodriguez took over from Pelle in the final 10 minutes, but was unable to get free to get a shot away. (5/10)
