Southampton midfielder Sadio Mane has claimed that Tuesday's victory over Crystal Palace will give the team a big confidence boost.
Mane scored a late winner at St Mary's Stadium last night as the Saints ended their three-game winless run in the Premier League with a 1-0 triumph.
The result has temporarily pushed Southampton up to fifth place in the table, one point adrift of the Champions League positions.
"I got the goal and it's very important," Mane told the club's official website. "It's good for every player to score, but the most important is the team, and I score for the team. It's good for the confidence now, and also for the team and now we'll keep going and work hard for the next game."
Mane has now scored six goals in 22 games for Southampton this season.
