Ronald Koeman laughs off Mauricio Pochettino's Southampton title claims

Southampton manager Ronald Koeman does not agree with Mauricio Pochettino's claims that there are still seven teams who can win the Premier League title.

Southampton manager Ronald Koeman has dismissed suggestions from Tottenham Hotspur counterpart Mauricio Pochettino that the Saints have an outside chance of winning the Premier League.

Pochettino, the former Saints boss, said earlier this week that there were seven teams, including Southampton, that could win the title this term.

Koeman, who succeeded Pochettino at St Mary's, says that the south coast club are focused only on trying to finish in a European spot this season.

"I do not agree with Mauricio," he told reporters. "It is nice to hear that Southampton is one of the seven teams that are still fighting but I do not see it like that.

"In my opinion it is between Tottenham and Leicester."

Southampton are seventh in the table, just four points behind the top four ahead of this weekend's trip to league leaders Leicester City.
