Jack Cork believes that "brilliant" Morgan Schneiderlin deserves a place in the France squad.

Jack Cork has insisted that France should consider selecting his Southampton teammate Morgan Schneiderlin.

Recent reports have claimed that coach Didier Deschamps had identified the midfielder as a potential squad member for the upcoming friendly encounters against Uruguay and Brazil.

Having played alongside Schneiderlin in the Southampton midfield for most of the Premier League season, Cork has claimed that the 23-year-old's performances have been worthy of international recognition.

"He's played every game in the Premier League this year and not been outdone by anyone," Cork is quoted as saying by the Daily Echo. "He's looked a great player, he's not looked out of place at all, and it's really suiting him the Premier League.

"I don't see why they shouldn't look at him for an international, because he's been brilliant."

Schneiderlin joined the Saints from Strasbourg back in 2008.
