Southampton boss Nigel Adkins admits that the club "need to do better" if they are to survive in the Premier League.

Southampton boss Nigel Adkins has admitted that the club 'need to learn quickly' if they are to survive in the Premier League this season.

The Saints have secured just one win from their opening seven league matches and surrendered another lead to 2-2 draw with Fulham at the weekend.

"I keep going on about learning but we need to learn a lot quicker and keep the ball out of the back of the net. We need to do better than we did," Adkins told BBC Radio Solent.

Southampton currently sit 17th in the Premier League table.
