Free agent Anthony Gerrard has reached an agreement with Shrewsbury Town to join the League One side.
The former Huddersfield Town and Cardiff City centre-back has been training with the Shrews for the past fortnight.
Gerrard will now become the third out-of-contract player to link up with Shrewsbury, but boss Micky Mellon claims that he may still be a few weeks away from making an appearance for the club.
"We have an agreement so, when he's fit, he'll be available to us," he is quoted as saying by the Shropshire Star. "Anthony still has a bit of training to do before he's there. But when he's ready, he'll be an important player for us."
Town also recently recruited Ian Black and Zak Whitbread, with the latter due to make his full debut in Saturday's home meeting with Bury.
