Sheffield Wednesday sign Portuguese midfielder

Portuguese midfielder Diogo Amado joins Championship side Sheffield Wednesday on a two-year deal.

Sheffield Wednesday have added Portuguese midfielder Diogo Amado to their squad.

The 22-year-old has joined the Owls from Uniao Leiria, having spent last season on loan with second division side Estoril.

Upon his arrival to the Yorkshire-based club, Amado admitted that he was looking forward to playing alongside his compatriot Jose Semedo.

"I am incredibly excited about this move," he told the club's official website. "I know Sheffield Wednesday from Portugal and it is a big, big club.

"I played with Jose Semedo at Sporting Lisbon and he is a great guy and he will help me settle into Sheffield.

"I am really looking forward to this."

Amado has signed a two-year contract at Hillsborough.
