Sheffield Wednesday are reportedly considering a move for free agent Emmanuel Adebayor, who is expected to sign for an English club in the January transfer window.
The 31-year-old spent an extended period in Africa following his release from Tottenham Hotspur at the end of the summer transfer window, but he is now believed to be back in England and searching for a new team.
Watford have been strongly linked with a move for the Togo international, but according to Sky Sports News, Wednesday are also in the running despite problems over the forward's wage demands.
Backed by Thai chairman Dejphon Chansiri, Wednesday are expected to have money to improve their squad in January after what was been an impressive 2015-16 Championship campaign to date.
Adebayor, who has also been linked with a move to the MLS, has represented Arsenal, Manchester City and Spurs in the Premier League, while he also scored eight times in 22 games for Real Madrid during the 2010-11 campaign.
