Sheffield Wednesday come from 2-0 down to earn a point against Derby County this afternoon to keep their fine recent form going in the Championship.

Sheffield Wednesday came from two goals down to earn a point against Derby County in the Championship at Hillsborough this afternoon.

The visitors made a bright start and went ahead when Jeff Hendrick exchanged passes with Jamie Ward before beating Chris Kirkland with a measured finish.

Wednesday responded well and started to dominate possession without troubling the Derby goal with any dangerous attacks.

The Owls brought on Conor Wickham for his debut before the interval in an early change and he immediately looked lively in attack alongside Leroy Lita.

Michail Antonio had a curling strike well saved by Adam Legzdins in the final action of the first half as Derby held firm to take their 1-0 lead into the break.

Derby extended their advantage just two minutes into the second half when Ward scored from the penalty spot after being fouled by Miguel Llera.

The home side reduced the deficit almost instantly when Lita got the final touch on a drive from Antonio.

A rousing comeback was complete on the hour when Llera attoned for conceding a penalty by sending a powerful header past Legzdins to level the match.

Neither side could find a winner in five added minutes but Wednesday will be the happier team after a spirited second-half fightback.
