Some Sheffield Wednesday players are reportedly ready to hand in their two-week written notice to the club after unpaid wages for the month of May.

A number of Sheffield Wednesday players have reportedly considered handing in their notice to the club, amid an ongoing unpaid wages situation.

Wednesday suffered relegation to League One this season after failing to make up the 12-point deduction, which was later reduced to six points, handed to the club for breaching EFL spending rules.

Chairman Dejphon Chansiri's relationship with the fans has broken down as the blame for the club's troubles has been put on to the owner.

According to The Mirror, a number a senior players are ready to hand in their two-week written notice after their wages were not paid in full for the month of May.

Unpaid wages have occurred more than once for Sheffield Wednesday players during the global pandemic and the possibility of furloughing staff, a much-criticised season ticket refund scheme and the ensuing relegation from the Championship has angered many people connected with the football club.

Wednesday have been installed as early second-favourites to win League One next season.
