Carlos Carvalhal has said that he is hopeful his Sheffield Wednesday side can push on following the conclusion of the international break.
The Owls have made a somewhat slow start to the campaign, having collected five points from a possible 15 so far.
New recruits have been brought in, though, including Daniel Pudil, Barry Bannan, Michael Turner and £3m Fernando Forestieri.
With all four players in line to make their debuts against Burnley on Saturday, Carvalhal is confident that Wednesday will continue to improve with each passing game.
"It's like a new start. Our season starts now - we have a new dynamic," he is quoted as saying by The Yorkshire Post. "We know we have difficult games but we have more solutions and that is important as this competition is a marathon.
"I believe we will improve the team week-by-week. I have received four to five new players who haven't played yet and we've got Glenn and Keiren who have been out who have good quality.
"The players understand the level of the training is completely different now. We have raised the standard and if you talk with the players, they will tell you the same. "
Wednesday lost their last fixture before the international break, falling 3-1 at home to Middlesbrough.
