New Sheffield Wednesday signing Barry Bannan is targeting promotion to the Premier League with the Championship's "sleeping giants".
The Scotland midfielder left Crystal Palace in August to move to Hillsborough on a one-year deal.
"There's a lot of good footballers in the team," he told The Sheffield Star.
"It might take a bit of time for everyone to get used to the way everyone plays, but I think once we get the hang of that we'll be there or thereabouts and it should be a good season.
"I think with these new owners coming in and lifting it, there's going to be a real pitch forward to try and get into the Premier League as quickly as possible."
The 25-year-old made 27 appearances for the Eagles after joining from Aston Villa in 2013.
