Sheffield United are linked with a surprise move for Burnley's Joe Hart as they look to strengthen in the goalkeeping department.

Sheffield United are believed to be considering a move for Burnley keeper Joe Hart if they are unable to get Dean Henderson on loan from Manchester United.

Henderson was an ever-present in the Blades' promotion-winning campaign last time around but his parent club are now seeking a loan fee for his services this season as they look to tie the 22-year-old down to a new contract.

With boss Chris Wilder working on one of the league's smallest budgets, the club have turned their attention to both Mechelen keeper Michael Verrips and former England international Hart ahead of their first Premier League campaign in 12 years.

According to the Daily Mail, Hart is prepared to leave Burnley with Tom Heaton and Nick Pope ahead of him in the pecking order, despite the former Manchester City stopper making 19 league appearances last season.

The Blades, who have already broken their transfer record twice this window to sign Callum Robinson and Lys Mousset, are also reported to be pursuing moves for Nottingham Forest midfielder Ben Osborn and Swansea frontman Oliver McBurnie.
