Former England international goalkeeper Joe Hart is reportedly free to leave Burnley this summer amid interest from Ligue 1 runners-up Lille.

Burnley goalkeeper Joe Hart has been told that he is free to leave the club this summer, according to a report.

The 32-year-old only joined the Clarets from Manchester City last year and quickly established himself as Sean Dyche's first-choice shot-stopper ahead of injured duo Tom Heaton and Nick Pope.

However, Hart lost his place in the team following a 5-1 defeat to Everton on Boxing Day and was forced to play second fiddle to Heaton for the remainder of the campaign as Burnley dragged themselves away from relegation trouble.

Both Heaton and Pope are now back to full fitness, and the Daily Mail reports that Dyche is therefore open to offers for Hart in order to reduce the wage bill.

French club Lille, who finished second in Ligue 1 last season and will be playing Champions League football in 2019-20, are among the clubs thought to be interested in the England international amid speculation over their current number one Mike Maignan.

The 23-year-old has been linked with a £25m move away from Les Dogues, with Manchester United rumoured to be one of the clubs considering an approach.

Hart has previous experience of playing abroad following a season-long loan spell with Torino in 2016-17, although there are also options for him in England, with Stoke City thought to be monitoring his situation.
