Ched Evans loses appeal against rape conviction

Former Sheffield United striker Ched Evans loses his appeal against conviction for rape.

Former Sheffield United striker Ched Evans has lost an appeal against his conviction for rape.

The 23-year-old was jailed for five years in April after being convicted of raping a 19-year-old woman, but he has reiterated his innocence since the incident.

The Court of Appeal not only rejected his appeal for the conviction for rape, but also against his five-year jail sentence.

Evans was released from Sheffield United after being found guilty earlier this year.
