Nine people who were guilty of illegally naming the woman raped by former Sheffield United striker Ched Evans have been told to pay the victim £624 each as compensation.
The group of individuals in question posted the name of the girl, who was assaulted by the 23-year-old, on social network websites. The crime resulted in a five-year prison sentence for the Wales international.
"A teenage rape victim was insulted, demeaned and named and the perpetrators get fined just a few hundred quid. The law must change to protect victims," the Daily Mail quotes Louise Mensch as saying.
Evans lost his first appeal in August.
