Report: Crystal Palace make £2.5m bid for Lille's Pape Souare

Lille left-back Pape Souare is the subject of a £2.5m bid from Crystal Palace, according to a report.

Crystal Palace have reportedly made a £2.5m bid for Lille left-back Pape Souare ahead of the January transfer window.

Eagles boss Neil Warnock is said to be eyeing up a number of options for the troublesome position, including Swansea City's Neil Taylor and Roma's Ashley Cole, although 23-year-old Souare has emerged as a top target.

The Daily Mail claims that Palace will have to up their initial bid, however, with French outfit Lille holding out for £3m for the defender.

Souare, who represented Senegal at the 2012 Olympic Games in London, is said to be eager to make the move to Selhurst Park, and is even willing to snub joining up with his country for the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations tournament.
