Former England boss Steve McClaren is reportedly not interested in taking over the managerial reins at League One outfit Scunthorpe United.

Steve McClaren has reportedly indicated that he has no desire to take over at Scunthorpe United.

At the weekend, the League One outfit opted to part ways with boss Graham Alexander, with the club having not recorded a win in eight matches.

The Iron remain in fifth place in the standings, but according to The Mirror, McClaren holds no interest in the vacant position at Glanford Park.

Scunthorpe chairman Peter Swann had suggested that he would like to hold discussions with the former England boss, but McClaren would seemingly prefer to wait for an offer from a bigger club.

McClaren has been without a managerial role for 12 months after leaving Derby County, but the 56-year-old did spend five months as a coaching consultant at Maccabi Tel Aviv.
