Schalke 04 striker Klass-Jan Huntelaar returned to first-team training yesterday, but his involvement was shortlived after suffering a bang to his injured knee during the session.
Huntelaar has been out since August with knee ligament damage, with the Dutch forward taking two months to recover from the problem.
The 30-year-old stepped up his rehabilitation with a return to full training this week but had to leave the session early, with ice applied to his knee after colliding with a teammate.
According to the Bundesliga's official website, Huntelaar left the pitch with bruising to his injured knee and now faces an anxious wait to see if his recovery will be affected.
The Royal Blues have struggled in Schalke's absence to sit 11th in the Bundesliga, although Kevin-Prince Boateng has provided goals since arriving in Gelsenkirchen last month.
