Rotherham United are reportedly closing in on the signing of free agent Clark Robertson.
The 24-year-old won Player of the Year at Blackpool last season, making 39 appearances for the League One side.
Robertson also spent six years at Aberdeen and has represented Scotland at Under-21 level.
According to the Sunderland Echo, Rotherham have beaten Sunderland to the centre-back and will conclude the deal by the end of the week.
The report adds that Sunderland will now turn their attention to Manchester United left-back Cameron Borthwick-Jackson, who is available on a loan deal this summer.
