Paddy McNair has reportedly completed a medical with Middlesbrough ahead of a move from Sunderland.
It was reported yesterday that the player agreed terms with the Championship side, and Sky Sports News reports that McNair has now finished his medical at the Riverside.
The report adds that Brighton & Hove Albion attempted to sign the player but had two bids rejected, the second amounting to £3.5m.
The deal is expected to cost Boro £5m, having already spent £11m in the window prior to the deal.
The 23-year-old made 18 appearances for Sunderland last season, netting five times in the Championship.
