Nicolas Lopez's last-gasp equaliser earns Roma a point at home to Catania on the opening weekend of Serie A.

A last-minute goal has prevented Roma from slipping to an opening-day defeat at the hands of Catania in Serie A.

The deadlock was broken by Giovanni Marchese, who found the top left corner of the net in the 28th minute.

Pablo Daniel Osvaldo drew the home side level after 58 minutes. He was supplied by Daniele De Rossi, before firing low past Mariano Andujar.

The Giallorossi had plenty of opportunities to take the lead, but Alejandro Gomez then stunned the Stadio Olimpico in the 69th minute.

It looked like Catania would hold on for a famous scalp, until Nicolas Lopez pounced in the first minute of added on time to earn a point.
