Ashley Cole hoping to emulate Arsenal, Chelsea success

Roma defender Ashley Cole says that he is "fine" with his decision to leave Chelsea in the summer, saying that he hopes to enjoy similar success at his new club.

Ashley Cole is hopeful that he can repeat the success he enjoyed during his time at Arsenal and Chelsea with new club Roma.

The 33-year-old spent a combined 16 trophy-laden years at two of the Premier League's biggest clubs, before leaving for Italy in the summer on a free transfer.

Cole returns to England tomorrow for the first time since joining the Giallorossi, when his side takes on Manchester City in the group stage of the Champions League.

"First of all I don't think Chelsea was wrong," the 33-year-old full-back is quoted as saying by The Express. "A decision was made and I'm fine with it. I had eight great years there and I still speak to the staff and players.

"I'm loving Italy but I'm not playing that well. I won't get carried away. I need more games. I'm enjoying my football and hopefully I can emulate what I achieved at Arsenal and Chelsea."

Roma are currently second in the Serie A table following their 2-0 victory over Hellas Verona on the weekend.
