A late penalty from Johnnie Jackson rescued a point for league leaders Charlton Athletic this afternoon.
It looked like visiting Tranmere Rovers were going to leave the Valley with all three points courtesy of a first half striker from Adam McGurk.
However, a late challenge from Ian Goodison on Yann Kermorgant ten minutes from time resulted in a spot-kick, which captain Jackson duly converted.
Elsewhere in the division, goals from Lewis Buxton, Gary Madine and Ben Marshall saw Sheffield Wednesday close the gap on Charlton at the top to three points with victory over Chesterfield.
The visiting Spireites got themselves on the score-sheet at Hillsborough courtesy of a close range goal from Leon Clarke.
Lee Clark's Huddersfield Town continued their unbeaten league form with a 2-1 win over Stevenage Borough. Gary Roberts put hosts Huddersfield in front shortly before the break, before full-back Scott Laird levelled up proceedings in the 66th minute.
Winger Lee Novak would prove to be the Terriers match-winner, finding the net 15 minutes from time to move his side up to third in the table.
Leyton Orient lifted themselves off the foot of the table with a 3-2 victory away at Scunthorpe United. Kevin Lisbie scored a brace for the O's, while Scott Cuthbert added a third.
United's goals came courtesy of Andy Barcham, who opened and concluded the game's scoring.
Replacing Orient at the bottom are Exeter, who slipped to a 2-0 defeat at Bury thanks to goals from Andy Bishop and Matt Oakley, who put through his own net.
