Republic of Ireland captain Robbie Keane has urged Aiden McGeady to push on at international level following Friday's friendly win over Latvia.
McGeady, who plays his club football for Spartak Moscow, scored a rare goal for his country as they earned a 3-0 victory in Dublin.
Keane is now eager for the 27-year-old to make more of a contribution for Ireland under new manager Martin O'Neill.
"He knows himself he probably should score more goals. He is probably killing himself too much about that rather than just relaxing and enjoying himself and just playing with a bit more freedom," the striker told RTE.
"It was a great goal and hopefully he can continue that now and score a lot more goals, because he is a player who can do that."
Ireland play another friendly on Tuesday when they take on Poland in Poznan.
