Xabi Prieto backs Jagoba Arrasate

Real Sociedad captain Xabi Prieto backs under-fire manager Jagoba Arrasate to turn the team's poor form around.

Real Sociedad skipper Xabi Prieto has backed his manager Jagoba Arrasate to turn things around at the Basque club.

Saturday's 1-1 draw with struggling Cordoba left Sociedad in 17th spot in the table, just one point outside of the relegation zone.

Prieto has admitted that Arrasate "is hurting" but remains confident of a turnaround.

"Jagoba is hurting, just like we all are something like this. The president has encouraged us and said we must pick ourselves up from this," Prieto told reporters at a press conference.

Sociedad have taken just six points from nine league games this season.
