Joachim Low: 'Sami Khedira has not suffered any setbacks'

Germany head coach Joachim Low reveals that Real Madrid midfielder Sami Khedira has returned to light running following a serious knee injury.

Germany head coach Joachim Low is confident that Sami Khedira will be available for the World Cup in Brazil this summer.

The Real Madrid midfielder has not featured since tearing his cruciate ligament while representing his country in November, but Low has revealed that the 26-year-old has returned to light running.

"If all goes well, Sami's calendar is full. I spoke to Sami on the phone three days ago," he told AS.

"He feels good. He's training gently on the treadmill. He's not suffered any setbacks."

It is unlikely that Khedira will return to first-team action for Madrid until at least May.
