Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane hits out at the 'lies' being generated in the Spanish press regarding the future of midfielder Isco.

Zinedine Zidane has insisted that he wants to see Isco remain at Real Madrid for the remainder of his career, amid reports in the Spanish press that the midfielder has been made available to purchase.

Spanish outlet El Chiringuito claimed earlier this week that Isco had been deemed surplus to requirements by Los Blancos after falling out of favour with his manager.

Zidane is unhappy with the 'lies' being generated by the local press, however, and claims that the 25-year-old potentially has what it takes to remain at the Bernabeu for life.

"I want Isco to spend all his career here. That will not change," he told reporters at Friday's press conference. "He is a very good footballer, he has shown that and can always show that. So El Chiringuito's report is a lie.

"Today you're asking me about Isco, next day you'll be asking me about [Marco] Asensio and then about [Dani] Ceballos. I trust and want all of them to stay."

Isco has started 14 games for Real in the Spanish top flight this term, but just two of those have come since the winter break.
