Cristiano Ronaldo 'fuming over Antoine Griezmann wages'

Cristiano Ronaldo reportedly grows further frustrated at Real Madrid after slipping behind Atletico Madrid's Antoine Griezmann in terms of annual earnings.

Cristiano Ronaldo is reportedly furious after learning that Atletico Madrid striker Antoine Griezmann is now earning more than he does at Real Madrid.

Atleti confirmed on Monday that Griezmann has agreed fresh terms at the Wanda Metropolitano, which is thought to have placed him above Ronaldo in the wage table.

The Portugal international also earns a lower salary than Barcelona forward Lionel Messi and Neymar of Paris Saint-Germain, with Madrid said to be paying him just under £40m a year.

Spanish outlet Sport suggests that the 33-year-old has grown further frustrated as a result of Griezmann's new deal, and Los Blancos are now under pressure to speed up contract talks with their star man.

Ronaldo hit a hat-trick in Portugal's 3-3 draw with Spain at the World Cup last week and is due to start against Morocco on Wednesday afternoon.
